Phillip Lim Spring 2012 collection

Luxurious, feminine style with a twist describes Phillip Lim’s 3.1 clothing collection. Always a hit among the stylish set looking for wearable yet fashionable clothing that is not priced in the stratosphere, Lim’s line, which launched in 2005, stands out with its pretty, floaty dresses, tailored jackets and coats, and attention to detail. Lim, a California native and onetime design assistant at Katayone Adeli, received the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination just one year after he launched his 3.1 collection. In 2007, he won the prestigious CFDA Swarovski award—among fellow design contenders Thakoon Panichgul and Rodarte. “3.1 is about clothes that refine instead of define,” the designer has said about the Phillip Lim brand. “A refinement that’s a bit classic in attitude but imparts a sense of individual style, without looking or feeling forced. Confident, unidentifiable, chic, and most of all effortless.”
